The 2017 Goalkeeper Battle, now in its seventh year and again with the TeamSport backing, will be played at the Luxol Stadium on June 10.

Besides confirming the date for the next competition, the organisers announced that this year proceedings will take place in the late hours of the day.

It was also confirmed that for the fourth year in a row, profits from sponsorships and gates will go to the Zem Zem Foundation, a voluntary organisation which provides financial assistance to patients suffering from serious illnesses.

There will be eight categories contested and up to 32 goalkeepers in each category can be included.

Participants, from the U-9, girls up to seniors, will be grouped in sections of four in the qualifiers before the knock-out stages.

Each game has a duration of four minutes and the entire competition will be under the supervision and control of MFA referees.

Applications can be collected from the TeamSport in Iklin, Di Milano Paola, Infetti Ground and all club nurseries in Malta and Gozo.
