Save your Smile is the latest offering from local artist Corazon. The song was written and penned by the artist herself, with arrangements and production by Dean Muscat and Boris Cezek.

Though not her first English language release, Corazon is mostly known for singing in Maltese, thanks also to her success in the L-Għanja tal-Poplu festival, which she has won three times to date. Asked whether she prefers one language to the other, Corazon said, “I think musical expression should have no boundaries, least of all where language is concerned”.

Her first release in English was last year’s single Looking for You, which proved to be a huge success on the local airwaves. It was followed by her participation in the 2012 Malta Eurovision Song Contest, where she sang Mystifying Eyes, a touching ballad penned by Paul Giordimaina and Fleur Balzan.

Her latest release, on the other hand, is more of a catchy acoustic/pop number that fits her voice, personality and artistic style, which may also be linked to the fact that she wrote the song herself.

“I think my songwriting is different because it is distinctly feminine, very emotive and yet contemporary,” she commented. “The lyrics are appealing and easy to relate to, and I’m sure everyone can see him or herself in the songs I write.”

Corazon currently co-hosts TVM’s daily afternoon show alongside Peter Carbonaro. She is presently working on a full-length album of original songs in Maltese that is planned for release later this year.
