Twenty-nine police inspectors, three of whom are new members of the police force, have been appointed.

During the swearing in ceremony at police headquarters Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said many of the new inspectors were university graduates with degrees in psychology, criminology, science, computing, management, marketing and law.

Mr Abela said that in the coming months the focus would remain on the need for a reorganisation of the structure of the police force which would include the appointment of a new chief executive officer, reporting directly to the Police Commissioner.
