Archbishop Paul Cremona has appointed Fr Gordon Refalo as the new parish priest of Luqa (St Andrew).

Fr Gordon was born in Sliema in 1961. He received his education at the Sisters of St Joseph and at St Aloysius College, Birkirkara. In 1984, he entered the Archbishop’s Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood in 1991.

Fr Gordon was first appointed assistant parish priest of Ħamrun (St Gajetan) and then served in the Naxxar parish. He was appointed parish priest of Sta Lucija, Ta’ l-Ibraġ and Swatar where he has been serving for the last seven years. He is also a spiritual director of St Martin’s College in Swatar.

Fr Gordon is the president of the College of Parish Priests.

There are about 5,600 parishioners and 1,500 families in Luqa.
