The police yesterday searched the garage and residence of Peter Cassar who was shot dead in Żejtun on Wednesday. Officers, including forensics experts, carried household items out into the narrow street. People on the scene said firearms and materials which could be used for bomb-making were also removed. The search follows another one on Thursday in a garage in Marsascala that belonged to relatives of Mr Cassar, known as Pietru l-Ħaqqa. In October, the police arraigned Mr Cassar after finding bomb-making equipment in his garage.
