Family Minister Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca has appointed Maria Camilleri as chairwoman of the National Commission for the Family.

The role of the Commission is to advise the Government and suggest measures to promote the well-being of Maltese families.

The deputy chair is Angela Abela. The other newly-appointed members are Jurgen Abela, Sonia Camilleri, Tessie Cassar, Albert Gauci Cunningham, Doris Mifsud, Clarrisa Sammut, Grace Shoultz and Victor Sultana. The commission secretary will be Ray Arpa.
