Caremark (Malta), a home care service franchise, is pledging to create more than 100 jobs across the island when it begins operations from its San Ġwann base.

The company was launched on Tuesday when it unveiled plans to offer personal care, domestic support and companionship services to people of all ages with a variety of needs, within their own homes and in the community.

Caremark (Malta) operations manager John Wilberforce is among the staff members who have completed a two-week initial franchise owner training course with Caremark Ltd of the UK. The course prepares franchise owners to deliver the highest standards of care within their region.

The Caremark story began in 2005 in rural West Sussex, when chief executive Kevin Lewis opened its doors to begin providing personal care and support to people in their own homes in local towns and villages. Since then, Caremark has grown significantly and is now providing support to people in over 60 regions across the UK and Ireland.

Mr Wilberforce has worked within the care sector for more than 10 years in the UK.

“Having worked in the care sector for so long, I have gained a strong understanding of what good care should look like,” he said this week. “I am thrilled to be joining the Caremark network, and cannot wait to start delivering services that will make a huge difference to the clients we work with here in Malta. It is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable people.”
