Legal professionals specialised in information technology law, representatives of the larger audit firms and electronic communications service providers have set up an association.

The Malta Information Technology Law Association (Mitla) aims to promote the advancement and development of the various branches of the sector and to make Malta an international centre of excellence in ICT law. It will be achieved through active research and debates on legislative and regulatory changes with government entities and private institutions.

Antonio Ghio is president, while Gegé Gatt, Joseph Borg, George Sammut, Russell Mifsud and David Gonzi are executive committee members.
