Two New Zealand white wines have been deemed fit for the Queen of England as the Royal Household Wine Committee selected them as a new addition to the Royal Cellars.

At a recent blind wine-tasting the Royal Household Wine Committee picked out two Sauvignon Blancs and immediately ordered 840 bottles. The two wines chosen for inclusion in Her Majesty’s 5,000-bottle wine cellar are 2010 Villa Maria Estate’s Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc and 2010 Palliser Estate Wine’s Pencarrow Sauvignon Blanc.

Jancis Robinson MW who is a member of the Royal Household Wine Committee said the wines would be served at more than 300 events held each year at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
