New Year’s Eve was celebrated with great fun and enthusiasm in Victoria. Entertainment was provided on two stages – on Independence Square and St George’s Square – where six bands and seven singers took part.

The event kicked off at 10pm on Independence Square where Carrie Haber gave a much-awaited performance, followed by a two-hour concert by Winter Moods, who ushered in the new year, followed by Divine Sinners and Mistaken Identity.

The stage in St George’s Square hosted several solo singers in a short pre-event, followed by The Quest, who made their debut earlier last year, Crosswalk and Straight Ahead.

Fireworks were let off at midnight.
