London’s New Year’s Day Parade crowns the British capital’s festive season with three hours of pomp and frivolity. More than 10,000 dancers, acrobats, cheerleaders, musicians and performers assemble in the heart of the city every year for a ‘celebration of nations.’

The parade starts in Parliament Square at noon, as Big Ben strikes the hour and proceeds along Parliament Street to Trafalgar Square, Cockspur Street, Pall Mall, Lower Regent Street, Piccadilly and ends with a bang at Green Park tube station.

Alongside the performers there are a multitude of floats and enormous helium-filled cartoon balloons, which tower above the buildings of Westminster. More than 400,000 people pack the route, so get your space early.
