Ronald Attard has been appointed the new Country Leader for Ernst & Young Malta, effective from July 1. Mr Attard, head of Transaction Advisory Services at Ernst & Young Malta, has led a number of due diligence engagements in recent years as well as several projects in the financial services industry, resulting in key players establishing operations in Malta.

Mr Attard, also having served for a number of years as an audit partner, is a chartered certified accountant, a Fellow of CIMA, a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants and a certified public accountant. He is a former council member of the Malta Institute of Accountants and serves as the honorary treasurer of the Hospice Movement in Malta.

He is also a senior visiting lecturer on accounting theory and practice at the University of Malta and regularly speaks at events in Malta and overseas.

He succeeds Mario Galea, who has occupied this position since the admission of the Malta office into the Ernst & Young global organisation on July 1, 2000. Mr Galea will continue in his role as chairman and senior partner as well as Assurance Leader at Ernst & Young Malta.
