St Ignatius College’s Girls’ Secondary School recently held a social event to mark the inauguration of the Malta Chess Federation club premises at the school.

The inauguration was marked by a social event, during which Year 6 pupils from the college’s feeder schools and from St Benedict College, who will be joining the school in the coming scholastic year, performed songs and dances. A group of Year 6 schoolgirls from Żurrieq primary also performed a dance routine and songs from the musical A Chorus Line.

School head Maria Montebello and college principal Horace Caruana delivered speeches on the occasion. They said the club would be an asset for schoolgirls keen on playing chess.
