In 1963, the Vatican made it possible to cremate human re-mains and, in 2016, it issued new guidelines for the bereaved and the Church.

Would it not make a great deal of sense to build a crematorium in this island?

Catholics, non-Catholics and other people could then have access to a dignified service, a place of remembrance and community, without taking up limited land space or fearing for their loved ones’ remains. Maybe the Addolorata project could include a crematorium? I do hope so.
