The Centre for the Liberal Arts and Sciences (Clas), in collaboration with the University Library, is organising an exhibition featuring photographs taken by seven students who followed the ‘Nature Photography Study Tour’ (LAS3003) within the university’s Programme in the Liberal Arts and Sciences (Plas).

The photographs were taken in Sicily in June 2015 and the study tour was coordinated by Guido Bonett, who also curated the exhibition. Participants visited Bosco di Malabotta, a nature reserve in Messina and one of the last remaining natural woodlands in Sicily, Rocche Dell’Argimusco, Riserva Naturale Pantalica – Valle Dell’Anapo, a Unesco site near Siracusa, and Mount Etna National Park in the province of Catania.

Students had the opportunity to photograph impressive landscapes characterised by gorges, waterfalls, lakes and streams, a variety of fauna including butterflies, dragonflies, damselflies and wall lizards, as well as a host of different flora. The programme also included on-site lectures.

The photographs were taken by Alex Bugeja, Johan Debono, Celine Farrugia, Kimberly Gauci, Gloriane Mifsud, Jonathan Pullicino and Alison Zammit Endrich.

The exhibition will run in the library foyer until March 18.
