The Nationalist Opposition has again brought up the subject of the Individual Investor Programme in the Public Accounts Committee. They have asked for the full details of the programme to be shown to them.

Due to the very important commercial sensitivity of parts of the IIP, the government members have voted against the Opposition’s request.

Despite the fact that, after having tried all forms of obstructionism, including taking the IIP issue to the European Parliament, and despite the fact that the European Commission has sanctioned the IIP contract, the Opposition keeps trying to find ways of putting spokes in theIIP wheels.

Unfortunately, while the vast majority of the Maltese people, including the stakeholders, see the IIP as being of great benefit to them and to the Malteseeconomy, the Nationalist Party in Opposition regard it as agrave obstruction to their own electoral fortunes !
