The first round of the National League has already been played with players of different skills taking part.
In fact, one does not need to be a top contender to join the Malta Squash competition.
There are eight divisions to cater for the different playing levels, ranging from relative beginners to intermediate and more advanced players, including national team members, in the higher echelons of the National League.
Both men and women take part and age is no limit either.
Some players are over 50 years old while the youngest is Kijan Sultana. The 11-year-old has already reached a very good level of play and classified in Division Four.
The top division is contested by Ivan Balzan, Paul Borg, Stephen Borg, Dean Gera, Martin Mallia and Robert Sultana.
The National League is sponsored by Scotts Supermarket and co-ordinated by Robert Sultana with assistance from Jean-Paul Navarro and Jason Stivala.
The next round gets underway in the second week of November.
