The National Statistics Office has opened a branch in Victoria. The office will initially comprise a unit manager, four statisticians and a statistics executive.

The all-Gozitan team will consolidate regional statistics and will broaden the scope for the compilation of new in-depth indicators specific to Gozo through the carrying out of surveys. Meetings are planned to be held with all the major stakeholders on the island.

The unit will report to the NSO director general Michael Pace Ross.
