It’s been pretty busy in the No Snow/No Alps camp these past months, and it doesn’t look like there’s any chance of things slowing down anytime soon either, at least not until the end of the year, when the band’s current tour stops for a breather just before Christmas.

Following a spell in Denmark, the band has settled on its new line-up, namely original members Nick Morales and Sarah Snow. The two are joined by recent additions Alan Portelli on bass, Benji Cachia on drums and Danish musician Mai Skjødt Micheelsen on vocals and keyboards.

The band recently readjusted its plan of action with the aim of getting its music heard in as many countries and by as many people as possible. The first fruit from the new line-up is the single N.E.W.

“It’s about starting a new page in life, which has a lot to do with the changes the band has gone through this past year,” frontman Morales said in a comment.

Written in Copenhagen during the time the band was living there, and recorded and produced by David Vella at Temple Studios, N.E.W is an upbeat number with enough references that link it to the band’s acclaimed 2011 Romantikpolitik debut album. There are, however, clear signs that the band is forging ahead and evolving.

“This is a totally different line-up, and we’re after a different sound, but you can still sense that it’s a No Snow/No Alps tune. We just want to make people dance.”

Meanwhile, the video for the new single was exclusively premiered last week on the front page of Rolling Stone (Italia) magazine’s website, which should bring in a much larger viewership than the band has probably ever experienced. This also bodes well, since the band is currently on tour – with Bertram Cachia standing in for Portelli on bass – in Italy, having just completed a number of gigs in Malta, Denmark and the UK. Their next stop after Italy will again be Malta.

“We’ll be playing a handful of gigs here in the coming weeks as well as a few more around Sicily,” Morales added. “After that, we’ll be focusing more on recording a new EP which will probably come out in the spring.”
