My Nametags, a UK manufacturer of easy-to-apply sticker and iron-on nametags, has launched a collection with a Maltese theme.

The Maltese designs are part of a campaign to celebrate the company’s launch of a new online portal dedicated to the Maltese market, www.mynametags.com.mt. The icons were created by a local designer, Lorinda Mamo, mother of Henry, 5, who was born with Prune Belly Syndrome and chronic kidney disease.

My Nametags will be donating 50 per cent of sales from the Malta collection to Puttinu Cares, a local NGO which helps families with children suffering from cancer.

Ms Mamo, who is also a graphic designer and blogger, said: “I have a great love for creating designs and items that will be used by children, but knowing that a percentage of sales will be going to a local charity that has helped my family made it that much more special.”

Ms Mamo said she wanted to portray something colourful and iconic, having been greatly inspired by her son’s love of the sea and the happiness that summer brings.

Originally founded in 2004 by Lars Andersen, out of a need to label his own children’s belongings, the company’s ambitions are to create the best name tags in the world. What started as a small one-man company has now grown to a modest but dedicated team.

“We are very happy to support such a worthy cause as Puttinu Cares,” said Mr Andersen, managing director at My Nametags.

My Nametags offer free delivery to Malta and now a 10-year washing guarantee. Its labels have been independently tested to be among the best labels in the UK. Over the years, the company has worked to create and maintain the highly respected reputation for quality and service that it has today.
