Organist and conductor Wayne Marshall will direct The New Choral Singers at their annual seasonal concert entitled Musical Tidings today at St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Valletta, and on Friday at St Publius parish church, Floriana, together with the choir’s resident conductor, Mauro Farrugia. Marshall will also play the organ.

The choir will sing a wide range of Christmas carols that will appeal to audiences of all ages. These include traditional numbers such as Ding! Dong! Merrily on High, O Ġesù Ħelwa Tarbija and God Rest You Merry Gentlemen, as well as select pieces from contemporary composers and songs dating back to the 16th century.

The concerts will be held today at 7.30pm at St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Valletta, and on Friday at 7.30pm at St Publius parish church, Floriana. It is recommended to arrive early to secure a seat. Admission is free but donations will be solicited to support the restoration of the pro-cathedral and the Karl Vella Foundation, which provides free educational and psychological support to children who have a parent or sibling with serious health problems.
