Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna has added a set of late-18th century English gunner’s callipers to its growing collection of original historic artefacts on display.

The example is made of brass and is steel-tipped. Callipers of this nature were developed in the 16th century to measure the bore of cannon and round shot.

They will be included in the new museum display at the Saluting Battery, in Valletta.
