Opposition leader Joseph Muscat yesterday held separate meetings with EU Commission President Jose’ Manuel Barroso, Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki and Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal.

The talks with Mr Barroso focused on EU-Malta affairs while the meeting with the Tunisian President focused on bilateral cooperation in areas such as education and tourism.

Regional cooperation was also the focus of the talks with the Algerian Prime Minister, as well as avenues of collaboration at state and private sector levels.

Those present for the meetings included Louis Grech, head of the Labour delegation to the European Parliament, and Alex Sceberras Trigona, the PL’s international secretary.
