Lauren Sciberras and Michela Lia, both on the books of Msida Arrows Badminton Club, will be abroad this weekend to play in the Luxembourg Youngsters International Tournament.

Sciberras has entered the U-15 singles while Lia will compete in the U-19 category. The two players will then partner each other in the U-19 doubles event.

The singles competitions will be played in groups on a round robin basis. The top two in each group qualify for the second round on a knock-out basis.

Doubles events will be played on a knock-out format from the outset.

Both girls have been preparing intensively for this tournament, having started their training during the hot summer months.

Msida Arrows said in a statement that the club was satisfied about the participation of their players on the international stage.

The club also reiterated its continued commitment to provide players with similar opportunities in the future so as to enhance their competitive experience and improve their standard of play.
