The Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi (ASMK) will be holding their second Moto-Enduro race of he season at the Torri Falka circuit, in the limits of Mġarr, on Sunday.

The off-roading event, sponsored by Pasta Poiatti and also open to ASMK non-members, gets underway with the registration process at 9am. First race is scheduled to start within an hour.

The Enduro Organising Team within the association again opted for a four-stage course as riders will have to demonstrate their skills in the various sections of the 4km long track laid on site.

The racing course laid out will include slopes, a few natural paths and man-made obstacles as riders will be grouped in three classes, according to engine capacity.

The opening heat will be a familiarisation run along the course with performances determining the Pole Position grid.

The next two timed heats will count for both class placing and overall classification.

Meanwhile, the ASMK have just held their annual presentations night at Palazzo Xara in Rabat.

During the activity, the 2012/13 championship winners and runners-up in autocross, motocross and trials were honoured.

Those present were also addressed by Frans Deguara, president of the ASMK. He thanked all those who assisted his organisation along the season and urged members to work harder to reach higher goals.

The autocross championship winner last season was Patrick Cassar and Domenic Zammit won the Gozo autocross section.

Clayton Camilleri was the Motocross champion and Damon Bonello was the dominant figure in the trials championship.

Deguara also reserved words of praise for Andrew Cassar and Nicolai Abela who were honoured at the 2013 MOC Sports Awards held earlier this month at the Hilton Hotel.

The two Enduro riders got recognition for their fine performances at championship races in Sicily organised by the FMI, the organisation responsible for motor sport in Italy.
