A mother who pulled her son’s teacher’s hair yesterday admitted to slightly injuring the woman, saying she had retaliated as the educator had done the same to her child, a court heard.

Rosarita Galea, 36, of Siġġiewi, attacked Nadine Piscopo at the St Ignatius secondary school in Tal-Ħandaq after Ms Piscopo had pulled her son’s hair the day before.

Defence lawyer Edward Gatt said he was not condoning his client’s behaviour but reserved the right to take the necessary action against Ms Piscopo for the way she had treated the child.

Magistrate Miriam Hayman conditionally discharged Ms Galea for two years and told her that while she could go to the school and attend parents’ day, she was not allowed to approach the teacher.
