The 12th edition of the month-long Gaulitana: A Festival of Music kicks off tomorrow, Easter Sunday, with the staging of Mary Poppins.

The Gaulitanus Choir, its soloists and some British guest artists will team up with the Gaulitana Ensemble under the musical direction of Colin Attard for this performance.

Running until April 29, the classical festival will feature a vast programme of events in various genres and styles. The highlight will be Bellini’s opera Norma, which will be held at the Aurora Theatre on April 28. It will be directed by Attard and will feature the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and the Gaulitanus Choir.  The event will form part of the Opera+ Weekend – an intensive programme of events concluding the festival.

The festival is supported by Valletta 2018 and the Gozo Cultural Support Programme of Arts Council Malta, in collaboration with the Gozo Ministry.

Mary Poppins will be held at the Palazzo Palina, Hotel Ta’ Ċenċ, Sannat, at 7.30pm. Entrance is free. For more information, call 7703 8971, send an e-mail gaulitanafestival@gmail.com or visit www.gaulitanus.com.
