The US Navy ship USS Monterey (CG-61) returned to Malta’s Grand Harbour yesterday, 11 years after its last visit to the island.

In Malta the crew will be resting and visiting historical and cultural sites.

In keeping with US Navy tradition, members of the crew have volunteered for projects that support local communities.

They will also do joint training exercises with the AFM.

Monterey is deployed in support of the US 6th Fleet and is wrapping up a nine-month deployment.
