On March 31, The Sunday Times of Malta published my photo of the road sign off Triq il-Bies, San Gwann, which was obviously wrongly put up as it gives the right of way to traffic going down this busy, steep, narrow hill.

The sign is still there. Are we waiting for a serious accident to happen before it is changed?

Furthermore, a sign was recently put up exhorting the proper use of the bring-in site just off the top of busy Triq il-Pellikan which carries the word ‘Ghamel’ that is meant to be the imperative form of the verb and which should therefore read ‘Aghmel’, the vowel ‘a’ before the consonant ‘gh’.

‘Ghandom’ (at the foot of the sign) should read ‘Ghandhom’.

Is it too much to hope that action will be urgently taken to rectify these monstrous errors?
