Italian folk rock giants Modena City Ramblers are playing at V-Gen Rock Club in Paceville tonight, as part of their Sul Tetto del Mondo Tour 2011. The supporting act will be local band Plato’s Dream Machine.

The Ramblers formed in 1991 when a group of musicians came together, mainly to entertain friends and family playing Irish folk music. As they started jamming more and more often, they began to write their own tunes, inspired by popular Celtic-influenced bands like The Pogues and The Waterboys. The music created by the Ramblers has garnered grassroots recognition all over Italy and other parts of the world, such as South America and South Africa.

The band is being brought over to Malta by Reciprocal Records and V-Gen Rock Club. Tickets can be bought at the door. Doors open at 9 p.m.
