Clayton Mizzi maintained his grip on the Sicilian karting championship Rotax category after two superb outings at the Favara and Triscina circuits.

Mizzi claimed pole in Favara, breaking his own track record before going on to win the race comfortably.

In Triscina, he missed out on pole position but managed to climb on the highest step of the podium to secure first position in his class.

With two races left, Mizzi is leading his age-group, 20 points ahead of his nearest rival but trailing by just three points in the overall list.

Thanks to the support of his mentors Giovanni and Ezio Leotta, Mizzi is fulfilling his ambition of competing with some of the best karting champions on their home track in Sicily.

Mizzi will return to Sicily in a few days’ time to take part in a non-championship race that will help him gain more experience on the international scene.

In his next race, Mizzi will wear a new helmet with the Maltese flag prominent in the new design.
