Miss Selfridge has launched its new collection for spring/summer.
For spring, the collection features a delicate nod to soft, sheer fabrics worn with effortless styling. The 1970s ethereal feel encompasses floaty, tiered, maxi dresses, backless, crisp, white, sun dresses and dusky, pink, bell-sleeve baby dolls.
Lingerie influences slip dressing, camisoles, bias cuts and a return to ruffles with sultry, black satins and sheers, and adds a boudoir element to breezy, daytime, nude, peachy tones.
Inspiration comes from Sophia Coppola’s Virgin Suicides seen across lace inserts, ditsy floral smocks and love-worn paisley prints contrasted against Japanese- inspired pieces, geometric prints, kimono jackets and embroidery.
Daisies sit prettily across the collection – appliquéd onto candy-coloured chiffon dresses and sheer panelled tops with peplum detail.
Denim is key – with tunics worn over embroidered smocks or updated with metalwork. Shorts are cut to sit high on the waist with embroidered lace hems. Skirts are fitted with pocket detail worn with tucked-in blouses and tan leather and wood sandals.
