Clarence Seedorf faces several weeks on the sidelines after he was diagnosed with a pulled hamstring, yesterday.

The veteran Dutch midfielder was forced off during Wednesday night’s 4-0 demolition of Arsenal in the Champions League.

Milan released a statement saying they would conduct further tests next week, at which point they will have a better idea of how long he is expected to be out.

Meanwhile, the Rossoneri also said defender Philippe Mexes will miss tomorrow’s match against Cesena after he was diagnosed with inflamation on his knee.

Mexes also played on Wed-nesday against Arsenal at the San Siro but then complained of a knee problem.

A test yesterday ruled out any greater complications to the same knee that Mexes was operated on in 2001 following a cruciate ligament injury.

It means that veteran Alessandro Nesta is likely to take over in the centre of defence alongside Thiago Silva.
