The Balzan Youths FC nursery, in collaboration with the AC Milan Academy, are organising a skill test for children born between 1997 and 1999.
A limited number of 25 participants will have their technical, tactical, physical and psychological skills assessed by two professional AC Milan Academy coaches during the trial.
The first part will be held on Monday between 9 a.m and noon. Milan youth coach Elio Garavaglia will analyse the participants’ qualities before selecting 12 for the final assessment.
The second phase of this exercise, scheduled for April 12, will be run by Andrea Icardi, the head coach of the AC Milan Soccer School in Australia. The most promising player will be invited for a trial with FC Gubbio or Empoli, both Serie B clubs, in December.
“This is a great opportunity for every Maltese youngster who wishes to enhance his/her potential through international exposure,” Balzan Youths said in a statement.
Parents who are interested in seeing their children do the skill test are to contact Balzan Youths nursery head coach Silvan Ciscaldi on 9982-8442 or send an email to balzanyouthsfc@gmail.com.
Every participant will receive a personal AC Milan Academy assessment sheet signed by the coaches.
Both sessions will be staged at the Balzan Youths FC training grounds.
Closing date for applications is Saturday. The event is supported by Balzan Youths’ main sponsor, Investors Mutual Limited.
