Midnight Express, the 1978 film partly shot in Malta, will be screened tonight for free at St James Cavalier at 8 p.m. and midnight as part of Notte Bianca.

The film, directed by Alan Parker and starring Brad Davis, John Hurt, Randy Quaid, Oliver Stone and Bo Hopkins is certified 18. The story is about a man who is caught smuggling drugs out of Turkey and sentenced to a nightmarish prison for life. There will be a discussion on Valletta as a filming location at 11 p.m.
