Adrianna Zammit, Microsoft’s country manager for Malta has been appointed country manager for Malta and Cyprus. George Petrakides, previously the enterprise partner group lead for Microsoft Cyprus, concurrently will assume the role of country manager for Microsoft Cyprus, reporting to Ms Zammit.
Ms Zammit assumes leadership for Microsoft Malta and Cyprus from Kostas Loukas, who continues his career in the company as the new general manager for Microsoft Romania.
“Adrianna will make strong contributions to the Microsoft business in Cyprus and Malta, building on her previous success. Both Adrianna and George are consummate professionals, whose knowledge and expertise will enable Microsoft to continue to serve all customers and partners effectively,” Takuya Hirano, general manager for Microsoft’s Central and Eastern European Multi-Country region, said.
Ms Zammit joined Microsoft Malta in December 2010 as a country manager. Under her leadership, Microsoft Malta focused on building strong relationships with local companies, public institutions and non-governmental organisations.
She was instrumental during the negotiations between Microsoft and the government for the extension of the existing collaboration and related agreements, including the set up of the Microsoft Innovation Centre.
Before joining Microsoft, Ms Zammit worked in a similar role in sales management for Texas Instruments in San Diego, and began her career as an electrical engineer for Northrop Grumman Space Technologies.
George Petrakides has been with Microsoft for 10 years and has led the company’s EPG business in Cyprus for the past five.
Prior to joining Microsoft, he worked for Kirkiles and Kotiadis, LLP in New York.
