Swansea striker Michu is set to be out for six weeks after undergoing ankle surgery, the club have confirmed.

The Spaniard has not featured since the game against Norwich on December 15 and Swans boss Michael Laudrup revealed on Christmas Eve that he would undergo surgery in an attempt to clear up the long-standing problem.

The club have now confirmed that the procedure has been a success.

“Swans striker Michu has today undergone a successful ankle operation which will keep him out for six weeks,” a club statement said.
