On Friday, V-Gen will be hosting Subkult Fest, a live metal event with a difference, namely that the concert, featuring local bands Rising Sunset, Myopic Destiny and In The Name Of, will be in support of Subculture Animal Friends.

The organisation, set up by punk act Subculture and its circle of friends and fellow musicians, is aiming to publish 10,500 booklets featuring three different stories in Maltese.

The booklets will be distributed for free to all Year 4, 5 and 6 students attending state schools. This is Subculture Animal Friends’ second project in its ongoing campaign to raise more awareness among young children and their families about animal rights awareness.

The line-up offers a variety of metal genres and, given the noble cause behind the concert, makes this event a must for all those who love a bit if metal mayhem and wish to show their support for Subculture Animal Friends.

Entrance is €5, all of which will go towards the fund-raising campaign. Doors open at 8.30 p.m., with Rising Sunset taking the stage at 9 p.m. Rock and metal classics will be played in between the live acts. For more information, look for the Subkultfest page on Facebook.
