Melita will redeem its Melita Capital 7.15 per cent bonds 2014-2016 in full on September 30.

The bond was issued in 2009 to support the growth in mobile services and broadband infrastructure for the Melita Group.

“This is a final step in the Melita Group refinancing process which, as announced recently, also included the consolidation of all the group’s operating companies,” Melita Group CEO Andrei Torriani said.

Melita Mobile Ltd, Melita Infrastructure Ltd and Melita plc were consolidated into Melita plc. The simpler structure would enable the group to achieve more financial agility and operational efficiency, the company said.

Bondholders as at close of business on September 15 will receive payment of the nominal value of the bonds held, together with interest accruing until September 30, by means of direct credit.

The last day of trading in the bonds will be September 10.
