Customer care in this country stinks. From rude and ignorant sales assistants and cashiers who ignore you right down to fully trained customer care reps at Melita Cable.

A so-called customer care rep at Melita took delight in my distress after having found out my service was cut off because I was slightly late with my payment.

Her voice and attitude over the phone seemed to be nothing but delight at my distress. It was like talking to a repetitive, cold answering machine with a smirk on its face.

When I asked to speak to a supervisor she said they don’t deal with these issues, then I asked what they are paid to do. Needless to say I got nowhere with her and instead I was left to phone another number to get my full cable service, internet service, phone line service and mobile service back. All because of a bill for €151.38. How’s that for service in this country?

Now when I had the service installed they damaged my newly plastered wall. When I complained it was all to no avail as nothing has been done about it. And to top it all they were charging me for an extra TV I never had. No apology, nothing.

So what does it say about them? I will leave readers to be the judge.
