Melita FC youngsters with the new Kick Academy kits.

Thanks to a four-year sponsorship from HEBE, the fashion jewellery and watch outlet, the Melita FC youth nursery will again stage the Ice Watch Tournament besides other youth festivals all aimed at promoting fair play in a safe environment.

The agreement was signed recently between Melita FC president, Paul Zammit, and HEBE Division Manager, Yanika Mattei.

Through the sponsorship HEBE will be supporting the only amateur club in Malta in its quest to promote football-related activities and to relish the club’s motto of playing football for the game’s sake, a joint statement said.

Zammit thanked HEBE for their backing and acknowledged that the company’s support will go a long way towards assisting the club in the organisation of various events at their premises.

HEBE will also introduce the Ice Watch player of the month, an appreciation to the efforts of the young Melita footballers. The winners will get a specialised armband and other prizes by the sponsor.

Mattei said HEBE were pleased to be associated with a Maltese football club of such long-standing values and tradition.

“We are sure that by offering Melita FC youth nursery our support, the club can continue improving the standard of their technical training and sports facilities,” she said.
