Melita coach Patxi Salinas has been given another touchline ban for dissent.

Salinas returned to the Melita dug-out for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Qormi after completing a three-match touchline ban but the Spaniard has now been suspended for another two games.

At the end of Saturday’s match, which Melita lost 2-1 after going in front, Salinas approached referee Chris Lautier but the latter was unmoved. The incident was mentioned in the referee’s match report, leading the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner to issue a touchline ban against Salinas for the third time since he succeeded Martin Gregory as Melita coach last year.

Melita wing-back Karl Vella Petroni was given a one-match ban after being sent off for two yellow cards in the first half of Saturday’s match.

Balzan defenders Jonathan Francica and Yessous Camilleri were also suspended for one match. Francica collected his fourth yellow card in Balzan’s 3-2 defeat to Sliema while Camilleri has been punished for failing to undergo the MFA’s compulsory medical test.

Camilleri, a former Malta U-21 international, will serve his ban in Sunday’s FA Trophy quarter-final against Qormi.

Two other Premier League players, Mosta captain Bryan Agius and Sliema winger John Mintroff, were handed a one-match ban for four yellow cards.
