Malta’s two top clerics met Pope Benedict XVI yesterday to give him a rundown of goings-on within their dioceses.

Archbishop Paul Cremona and Gozo Bishop Mario Grech are spending five days at the Vatican as part of their Ad Limina visit.

Such visits are usually held every five years. Aside from an audience with the Pope, the bishops will meet with several other top Vatican officials.

Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca will join both bishops for their audience with the Pope on Monday morning.
