Ramon Mangion, Mcast curriculum administrator and EPALE Ambassador for Malta (European Platform for Adult Learning in Europe) won the award for the most engaged Maltese EPALE ambassador.

The Directorate for Lifelong Learning and Early School Leavers is the national support service for EPALE, which is an online platform community for professionals working in the adult education sector. EPALE is funded by the European Commission, in an ongoing effort to improve the quality of adult learning in Europe.

The Directorate for Lifelong Learning and Early School Leavers last February nominated 13 EPALE ambassadors. Mr Mangion represented Mcast. The role of an EPALE ambassador is to make use of the platform and share knowledge by uploading content. Moreover, each ambassador has an important role in introducing EPALE to its clients and members.

Mr Mangion has attended every meeting, written various blogs on EPALE, promoted the platform among his students, invited the directorate on a radio station and has constantly been supporting the platform with new registered users on EPALE.

He has published the following posts:

• Community Radio Broadcasting and Adult Education: Case Study-Using Community Radio for Non-Formal Education;

• My Perspectives on e-learning;

• Teaching Inmates: Breaking Barriers;

• My Perspective on Lifelong Learning and Older Adults;

• Integrating EPALE into lessons for Adult Learners;

• A Case Study and Teaching Computer Skills to Older Adults-Adapting to their needs.
