John Dalli’s proposals for reform at Mater Dei Hospital will be published soon, according to Health Minister Godfrey Farrugia
The former European Commissioner and PN health minister was appointed by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat in June to head a reform body within the hospital’s administration.
Finance Minister Edward Scicluna said during his Budget speech on Monday that Mr Dalli’s report would be published and debated during a national conference.
The report, Dr Farrugia told Times of Malta yesterday, had been submitted to the Government.
“Once it was mentioned in the Budget speech, it means it has been submitted. Once it is tabled, you can have a look at it,” Dr Farrugia said when asked for a copy of the report yesterday.
Asked whether this meant it would be tabled in Parliament, Dr Farrugia replied: “I said tabled, not tabled in Parliament.”
He was speaking on the fringes of an opening event for a new clinic at SkyParks Business Centre at the Malta International Airport.
During yesterday’s event, Dr Farrugia praised young healthcare professionals Oliver and Charlene Scicluna for their foresight in bringing together family medicine and aesthetic beauty.
