For the fourth year running, a 12-hour marathon between rock bands and martial arts schools took place at the Magazino Hall of the old Power House at the Valletta Waterfront to raise funds in aid of Puttinu Cares.

The public had the opportunity to follow 16 rock bands, while at the same time 18 martial arts schools put on displays.

The two groups competed for the public’s attention to outdo each other in the sums raised from donations at the entrance. For the first time since the event was launched, the two groups collected an equal number of funds.

The total €5,000 collected will be donated to the Puttinu Cares Foundation to support its efforts in assisting children needing treatment for cancer abroad as well their carers.

The foundation covers the flights and all accommodation expenses. A number of Valletta Cruise Port staff together with their families and friends volunteered their time in the weeks prior to the event and on the day.
