I fully concur with John Seychell Navarro on the state of the Marsa horse drinking fountain. I took a photo of it to show readers its shameful state and how urgently restoration works are needed.

Such fountains were a common sight on Malta’s roads in the past, however, they have disappeared through the years. One example was found in the Valletta waterfront area.

One can admire two last remaining examples: one in Spinola square and one on the road leading to Marsascala.

I appeal to Mepa to schedule this fountain immediately and, if necessary, issue a conservation order for its repair.
