Verona have secured the services of veteran Mexico defender Rafael Marquez on undisclosed terms.

The 35-year-old, who can number Barcelona, Monaco and the New York Red Bulls among his former clubs, has swapped Mexican outfit Club Leon for another shot at European football.

Verona said Marquez had passed a medical and had chosen to wear the number four shirt.

Marquez betrayed his advancing years to feature at the World Cup finals in Brazil, with his goal against Croatia making him the first Mexican player to score at three consecutive World Cups.
