Bulgarian coach Atanas Marinov is making a return to the club that gave him his first job in Maltese football after being appointed sporting director of Division Two club Żabbar St Patrick.

Club official Manuel Gauci told Times of Malta that Marinov has been tasked with overseeing the progress of the Żabbar St Patrick teams at all levels.

The Bulgarian will be working closely with Ludvic Bartolo, the technical director and head coach of the Zabbar St Patrick nursery, and Robert Cassar, the coach of the senior team who has been confirmed for next season.

Cassar’s association with the Żabbar St Patrick stretches back 22 years while Marinov, who won the league title with Birkirkara in season 1999-2000, began his first coaching spell with the club in season 1997-98.
