A 22-year-old man was caught on the closed circuit TV camera of a Paceville bar hurling a glass at a police officer when it was past his bail-imposed curfew, a court heard.

Clint Dalton, from St Paul’s Bay, was yesterday charged with breaching bail conditions handed down in a previous court case. He was meant to be indoors by 6pm but, on August 25, he was out and about at 5am.

Police Inspector Trevor Micallef yesterday told Magistrate Neville Camilleri that the CCTV system at Fuego, in Paceville, clearly showed Mr Dalton out beyond his curfew and involved in a fight with a police officer.

The officer, police constable Vince Cutajar, said he had gone to Fuego to split up a fight and ended up being attacked by a group of people. He recognised Mr Dalton as one of them.

Defence lawyer Chris Cardona made a request for bail arguing that his client was still presumed innocent at this stage. Magistrate Camilleri granted him bail against a personal guarantee of €3,000.
